When you're struggling with the effects of trauma, anxiety or PTSD, it might not take much to throw you off balance. The smallest thing can overwhelm you, cause you to doubt yourself, or make you feel out of control. And when you take look at yourself, it may be hard to like what you see.
I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist specializing in helping women heal unresolved trauma, and find relief from the pain of past experiences and relationships. My goal is to help you bring out the best in yourself, so that you can feel more confident, at ease and engaged in your life and your relationships.
Getting help for anxiety, trauma, and PTSD
Living through a traumatic or distressing experience can change how you feel about yourself and the world around you. And it takes so much energy to hide how you're really feeling or to stay silent about something that’s happened to you. Opening up about how you're struggling can be difficult. But remaining silent and trying to keep up the appearance that everything is okay is exhausting.
As your therapist, I'll work with you to find ways to calm and support yourself through your challenges or distress, help you discover and build up your strengths, and develop a deeper understanding of yourself. Having the tools to manage your emotions and distressing thoughts will allow you to think more clearly and make decisions more easily--- so that you can heal what's hurting.

This includes traditional talk therapies including psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, as well as EMDR (a therapy developed specifically to treat trauma/Post Traumatic Stress Disorder-PTSD).

For adults with a history of trauma, including childhoods complicated by abuse and neglect. I commonly work with women who have endured sexual abuse, physical abuse, emotional abuse and neglect. Growing up in a household with mental illness, alcoholism, or a lack of appropriate adult care are common life experiences for many of the women I work with. In addition to PTSD, trauma can lead to problems with depression and anxiety.
Anxiety is the most common mental health issue for women. I offer treatment for anxiety including generalized anxiety (free floating), panic disorder, and social anxiety, as well as general stress management.
For New Moms
During pregnancy and postpartum, women face so many changes. Adjusting to life with a new baby can cause unexpected challenges, and problems with mood and anxiety. I offer therapy to support new moms in finding more ease and enjoyment during this important stage of life
